Our client is a well-known Japanese company and established in Singapore since 1973. The company offers a variety of products including seasonings, frozen foods, processed foods, beverages, sweeteners and amino acids for the consumer market as well as the catering and food processing industries. Apart from its marketing and sales activities locally, the company also performs vital functions to support the Group’s global operations, such as the procurement of flexible packaging materials, chemicals and raw materials, the provision of logistic solutions, and developing new businesses in the region.
- Manage customer and build strong customer relationships
- Visit customers regularly to understand their needs, discuss new projects and support product quality discussions
- Introduce and present new packaging solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and value
- Visit and work closely with suppliers on raw materials, production, QC, packing and delivery
- Coordinate the artwork development process, including liaising with artists and suppliers, color proofing and approvals
- Lead supplier meetings. Maintain close communication with internal teams
- Develop and implement annual sales plans and submit monthly sales forecasts
- Prepare and manage sales documents (e.g. costing sheets, quotations, POs, invoices, etc.)
- Monitor production and QC data to ensure product quality and consistency
- Coordinate shipping and logistics (e.g. track cargo readiness, arrange shipment bookings, compare freight options and update vessel schedules)
- Submit sales reports for internal management review
- Monitor raw material markets and negotiate with suppliers to maintain price competitiveness
- Source new materials, suppliers, and clients to support business growth and innovation
- Conduct annual/ad-hoc supplier audits, especially during critical claim investigations
- Collaborate with Japan HQ and ASEAN HQ on regional projects
- Conduct day trips to Johor Bahru for on-site printing inspections and production supervision
- Participate in overseas business trips to strengthen supplier and customer relationships
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the company
- At least 2 - 5 years of sales experience/account management
- Preferably experience in trading business
- Experience in handling packaging / petrochemical related products are preferred, but not essential
- Knowledgeable in Incoterms is an advantage
- Have a valid Class 3 driving license
- Willing to travel regionally (e.g. Johor Bahru and other ASEAN countries) for business purpose
- Willing to conduct sales visit to customers and suppliers regularly
- Good personality, time management, able to work independently and teamwork
- Working location: Central (2 to 3 minutes walk from MRT Station)
- Working hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm
