Job Description

- Responsible for initial pre-opening activities, including setting up of the Sales Department, establishing policies and procedures, SOP and department staff recruitment.
- Works closely with Corporate Office to ensure pre-opening milestones are achieved.
- Optimize manpower and performances to achieve Sales target.
- Work with General Manager, Regional Director of Sales & Marketing and relevant parties to develop a marketing plan that identifies market niche and segments and formulate a tactical plan to achieve sales goals and targets.
- Establish/review account qualification criteria and use market research to identify and secure priority accounts.
- Maintain responsibility for selected key accounts
- Monitor and review sales production and adjust sales activities, account coverage and sales priorities in order to achieve planned goals.
- Co-ordinate close frequent and open communications between Regional Director of Sales and Marketing (Corporate Sales) and the properties
- Propose and oversee the set-up of a viable sales administration system covering portfolio and database management to meet sales team’s needs, as well as to audit the system and monitor its maintenance
- Optimize room utilization by accessing the demand and supply for rooms
- Lead, manage and motivate an effective team of sales professionals to achieve budgeted sales
- Establish team sales goals and allocate key accounts to each member

Job Requirements

- Degree in Business/Marketing or Tertiary qualifications in in hotel management.
- Minimum 8 years of sales experience in hospitality industry with minimum 2 years of managerial experience as Director of Sales & Marketing in an international premium hotel chain or serviced apartment
- Strong in RFP & familiar with Consortia programmes
- Proven record of success in key account management
- Pre-opening experience preferred
- Effective leadership and coaching skills
- Excellent people and communication skills
- Good oral & written English skills
- Literacy in software application, preferably in travel and hospitality operating software
- Must have the rights to work in Japan
