Job Description

- Key duties, responsibilities
- Document Translation English ⇔Japanese.(tools can be used but some documents are locked due to compliance, therefore manual translation skill is required).
- Own all aspects of language quality for English and Japanese, in line with localization best practices
- Read given material and research industry-specific terminology to translate and localize copy from English ⇔Japanese, including: UI/UX strings, announcements, blog posts, press releases, video scripts, landing pages, and help guides.
- Edit translated versions while ensuring copy conveys original meaning and follows the established Tone of Voice
- Provide quality assurance for the translation process
- Maintain a translation database
- Own and maintain language assets for English, such as style guide and glossary, and Contribute to the establishment of cross-functional localization best practices
- Resolve issues associated with translation, localization, internationalization and culture
- Engage with other departments to provide translation services when needed
- Produce quality copy accurately and efficiently, against deadlines
- Implement feedback and changes when needed
- Communicate and follow up with internal team members and stakeholders to ensure translation meets their need

Job Requirements

- More than 3 years of translation experience. (At least 1 year of related experience)
- Familiar with Microsoft office & Google softwares
- Own all aspects of language quality for English and Japanese, in line with localization best practices
- Bachelor's or higher degree in communications or ideally, in linguistics, translation and interpreting
- The ability to grasp new concepts quickly, e.g. technical terms
- Time-management and project management skills - ability to work under pressure
